Episcopal News Service confirms charges
The Episcopal News Service has confirmed that charges have been brought against seven current and retired bishops due to their support of an Amicus brief in support of the former bishop of Dallas-Fort West, Jack Iker's counter suit against the Episcopal Church in an attempt to appeal the ruling that returned the legitimate property of the Church to the Church. You can read the news story here at ENS.

Bishop Hampton of Oregon: Remember the Holy Land
The interim bishop of Oregon, +Sandy Hampton, has once again written to us in the diocese, this time about providing help to our "family" in the Holy Land. Here is his letter that I share with you, especially those of you outside of the diocese.

A Message from Bishop Hampton
Dear Sisters and Brothers:
In her Epiphany letter to all congregations, Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori asked Episcopalians to continue to praying for our sisters and brothers in theHoly Land and to support the Good Friday Offering as an opportunity to demonstrate our solidarity with Anglicans and all Christians in that troubled part of the world. The Diocese, and particularly its hospital, has been unusually stressed by the recent violence between Israel and Hamas and the needs are enormous, as you might imagine. For the past 87 years The Episcopal Church has taken up a Good Friday Offering to be sent to The Episcopal Church in Jerusalem and the Middle East , symbolizing unity with and passionate concern for those who witness to Christ throughout the region. We all realize that we live in very uncertain times, economically for sure, but by "keeping the main thing, the main thing" as the saying goes, I'm confident that your good folks will respond to this appeal generously.
A Holy and Blessed Lent to you all.
+Sandy Hampton

Of Ill-gotten Memos and Pouty Fundamentalists
The Right Reverend Katharine Jefferts Schori, Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church USA, wrote a memo--though not released to the public--but available to read [though obtained by the fundies of Stand Limp (officially known as StandFirm, if you can imagine that)...most dishonorably by Greg Griffiths] on their supposedly orthodox but tainted blog. Talk about bridge to nowhere...
The memo is clear that a presentment is in the offing against the pretender bishop of CANA, Robert Duncan+. What is abundantly clear is the following of canon law as we know it in the Episcopal Church as revealed by ++Katharine, which certain others think they are too good enough to follow and obey when it is used to its fullest and destined intent.
I must warn you that the comments by readers of Stand Limp are acidic, caustic, banal, ignorant and lacking in Christian charity of any kind, regardless of how you disguise it. You will have a foul taste in your mouth and sadness in your heart, not for our PB but for these obviously miserable and pouty, "if we don't get our cake, nobody can have any", sad excuses for supposedly godly men and women that they profess to be...not. You will only need the armor of God and the Holy Spirit in all of Her goodness to persevere.
You can read the memo [remember, obtained in an ill-gotten manner] and the pathetic attempts to discredit ECUSA and our duly chosen Presiding Bishop, here.
You can read the full text of the letter here. Episcopal Life Online has a very informative article here.
